Chicago- Transportation and Art

I took the train from Crystal Lake to downtown Chicago on Saturday. A 1 1/2 hour train trip that made many stops but was well worth the time and the non-hassel of trying to find parking. The Olgivie train station was all inclusive- shops, fast food, TV- you could do it all here.
Interesting art along the walk outside the station

I think this was a grill on the front of a train

The challange in Chicago, well first study up, how are you going
to get around once you get there?
To the fine bus drivers of Chicago- thank you! What wonderful folks and so very helpful.
They made sure I got to where I needed to be.
If not for them I would still be wandering Chicago and hopping busses.
Thanks Chicago!

Chicago- Millenium Park

Walked to Millenium Park from the train station.
What a beautiful area!
Ball park is here as well as a wonderful outdoor theatre

Chicago, Museum Campus

After the adventure of trying to find the right bus to ride, I made it to the Museum area.
All good intentions of going to Shed Aquarium. See that line?
Well it wrapped around the front 1/4 mile. Another time-maybe?

Field Museum

Chicago- Field Museum

Here are some pictures taken in the Field Museum.

Humerus bone from a mastadon, compared to one of today's elephants.

An excellant display of North American and Pacific Coast natives

Snow Leopards- one of my favorites

Lake Geneva

Sunday, was another cloudy, rainy day but that didn't stop me from driving 20 miles
to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
Purpose in hand- to find a unique outfit for my son's wedding.
But the charm of the location was awesome.

A great resort town, quiet now, but I'm sure when the weather turn great,
so will the crowds pick up.
Great little restaurants, all kinds of little shops and the walk around the lake is breath-taking, even if was rainy.
Oh yes, mission accomplished- found something no one else will have.
Very prosperous day indeed.
