Balloon Glow Cincinnati, July 3 2012

Had the opportunity to go to the Balloon Glow at Coney Island with some of my co-workers on July 3rd. Very very hot this evening but it was worth it to see the Hot Air balloons that were tethered and glowing. As it became darker the more frequently they lit up. You had to stand ready with your camera and listen for the fog horn-- when it sounded the night air lit up with the glow of the balloons.

Ceaser Creek Polar Plunge

Upon arrival to Ceaser Creek Lake on January 28, the first thing you see is 6 ambulance, 2 rescue boats and about 6 divers-- what does that tell you? Hm! Well, I understood that it was better than last year- they had to cut a 12 foot swath of ice for the plunge. This year, however it was 40 and sunny with a wind of 40 mph! Still a little crazy

That said, it was all to benefit the Special Olympics . Crazy as it might have been, big money was collected for a great cause and the cold only lasted for a short while.

Family to cheer on the plungers!

Oh you just wait!

Best dressed for the "Cold" water plunge

MC was dressed appropriately for the event- the non-plungers were
dressed warmly in our winter coats!

Can you hear his thoughts? "Hm, maybe not such a good idea".

" Yup, definitely not a good idea".

"Oh what the heck, I will if you will".

Matt and Molly headed out to the water holding hands--and then it was each one for themselves!

Rescue divers - didn't have to rescue today!

All was well

Fall Festivals- don't you love them?

Fall and the ultimate festival - Circleville Pumpkin Festival. Whatever you can think of to eat, imagine it made with pumpkin- burgers, pies, candy, waffles, ice cream -- get the picture?

The displays of pumpkins and gourds were beautiful.
This small pumpkin weighed in at 1,150 lbs. And it was not the largest!
That one was over 2,000 lbs- imagine trying to get that loaded on a truck.

No picture - I was not able to get close enough to see it-- as you can tell, it was a gorgeous day in central Ohio and 1/2 of Ohio was in Circleville.

Yes, these heads are reall pumpkins- now how did they do that?

Worlds largest pumpkin pie and for real, the hogs have a real treat when the festival is over.

This artist has painted murals on the old buildings in many of our Ohio towns.

Even the local pets get in the fall festival mood!

Had a wonderful cookout and hayride at the Targett home last evening. Enjoyed great food, great company and fun with the furry friends.

Thank you Targett's for a fabulous time!
