You know you are in Northern Cal when--------

Your neighbors are common every day household names.
Like Google in Mountain ViewYahoo in Sunnyvale

And, yes I also went to Facebook in Palo Alto. But they don't advertise on the outside of their building on a busy street close to Stanford University. So you just have to take my word for it- they are neighbors!

Party time at Vic and Missy's wedding

Last Saturday, the 20th was Victor and Missy's wedding. What a great time to get a shot of all my "kids"- minus the 3 that are in New York. Dave and I have known Victor since he was 5. Vic and Bo have been best friends since they first took the soccer fields together. So this isn''t just a friends shot- it is all my kids! (Ha, who am I kidding- the youngest "kid" is 27)
I am very sure our little corner got a little rowdy.

My boys and me- I think we were dancing, I'm not sure.

What a group- Victor's family and ours- after a few.

This my favorite!

The Wedding--Continued

Haight Ashbury Street Fair

June 14, 2009- Haight Ashbury Street Fair in San Francisco.
What a treat- however, it was not with out frustration- took me an hour to find someplace to park! Should have taken the train- oh well. It was fun to be in the historical district- for those of you my age and older- remember the times of all the news from this area?
Oh, I'm sure some of you were here during that time- stories you tell or keep to yourself?

Had to throw this one in- wanted to get off my feet and found this bar and grill-
Carlsberg was the featured beer.
Ah, memories!

Not your typical window decoration!

Think I will have to go back and take another look when there are not 1,000's of folks walking the streets.
It was another great day in California.

H&A Street Fair Sights

For those of you from Ohio that have been to the Yellow Springs Street Fair, you are quite used to seeing the "Far Out" atire of those fair goers, and the Haight Ashbury fair is no different. There were the vendors who had their booths- with multi colored tatoos, snakes around the neck, hair that was braided, matted, and in every color of the rainbow and then some. Then you had the pan handlers- playing their music on the corners and in-between. Actually, some were pretty good.

The communication from above the street windows to the crowd below was fun to watch. I am thinking that compared to the district during the 60's and early 70's- this was all pretty mild.

Architecture in the Haight District

I think I have mentioned before that the streets of San Francisco are truly up and down. But, walking these streets you get to see the amazing architecture. These homes, while multi story and narrow, are amazing works of art. If you had to live in the city, living in one of these would be wonderful. An added bonus on my walk--the guy in the middle of the street was on a skate board--and no, he was not a youngster-looked to be maybe late 40's. I personally think he was taking his life in his hands-literally- he is headed straight down the street. I sure hope he didn't have to stop too quickly.
